I travel the backroads of the Carolinas and beyond to bring an eclectic mix of functional pottery to the gallery - wheelthrown and handbuilt, traditional and contemporary, wood-fired and sgrafitto, copper reds and celadons....each piece is a one of a kind work of art.

Functional pottery in our gallery is food safe as well as oven, dishwasher and microwave safe.

With our move to Devine Street, we have significantly expanded our display of ceramic sculpture and are adding new work from existing artists as well as adding new artists on a continuing basis. That 'statement' piece can certainly be found in our Gallery.

Diane Gilbert, who teaches handbuilding at the Southern Pottery Studio, is well represented with her amazing works in our gallery. Many of her animal sculptures are life size and some even larger than life!

Face jugs are a big part of who we are at Southern Pottery, ranging from simple slave style to very elaborate and contemporary. Researching histories, especially in South Carolina, of early potteries is something of great interest to me and I spend as much time as possible exploring relavant places on my travels.

GIFT IDEAS .... In addition to weddings and birthdays (and unbirthdays!), we have worked with our potters to provide large quantities of hand crafted gifts for corporate gifts, golf tournaments, service awards, hostess gifts,bridesmaids' gifts, just to name a few.

Since the pieces in our gallery are truely one of a kind, it is impossible for us to keep photos updated with current work...if there is a specific artist or a type of piece that you are interested in, I will be glad to email photos of current works.
